Jeff Nettles re-signs with Somerset

Jeff Nettles has re-signed with the Somerset Patriots for the 2012 season.

Nettles has been a member of the Patriots since 2003, and is arguably one of the greatest players in Atlantic League history.

Nettles is the Atlantic League All-Time leader in RBI (594), doubles (197). He's second in hits (928), home runs (145), and at-bats (3,218). He's within reach of breaking those records this season.

Nettles was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 47th round (1388th overall) of the 1998 MLB Amateur Draft. He played five seasons in the Yankees organization advancing to Triple-A twice in 2001 and 2002. He also had stints in the Royals organization in 2007, and the Orioles organization in 2008.

Nettles has been selected to the Atlantic League All-Star teams numerous times. He was also a major part of four Atlantic League Championship teams with Somerset (2003, 2005, 2008, and 2009).
