Barnstormers Re-Sign Hamulack and Peeples

The Lancaster Barnstormers have re-signed left-handed pitchers Tim Hamulack and Ross Peeples for the 2012 season.

Tim Hamulack was a 32nd round selection (893rd overall) by the Houston Astros in the 1995 MLB Amateur Draft. Hamulack played in the major leagues with the New York Mets in 2005, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006. This will be his third season with the Barnstormers. He has a  7-5 record with 18 saves and a 2.00 ERA in 76 innings in his two previous seasons with the Barnstormers.

Ross Peeples will be entering his eighth seasons with the Lancaster Barnstormers. Peeples was orginally drafted by the New York Mets in the 45th round (1352nd overall) of the 1999 MLB Amateur Draft. He pitched four seasons in the Mets organization, and had his best season in 2001 with Brooklyn(A) when he posted a 9-3 record with a 1.34 ERA in 80.1 innings pitched. He was named New York-Penn League Pitcher of the Year that season. Peeples came to the Barnstormers in 2005 and has been a mainstay ever since. He has a career 23-21 record with a 4.75 ERA in 459 innings pitched for the Barnstormers.

Lancaster solidified their bullpen today with these two signings. Hamulack is a veteran who can be called on to get one out, work a couple innings or come in to close out a game.

Ross Peeples has been used mostly as a reliever in his career but started 18 games last season. He'll most likely be back in the Barnstormers bullpen in 2012.

A side note to this post. I had the chance to talk to Ross before and after a game last season. He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met in the Atlantic League. He's very appraochable and always willing to talk to fans and sign autographs. Great to see him back with the Barnstormers and back in the league.
