Bluefish Sign Raymar Diaz

The Bridgeport Bluefish announced today they have re-signed right-handed pitcher Raymar Diaz for the 2012 season.

Raymar Diaz was orginally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 47th round (1407th overall) of the 2002 MLB Amateur Draft. He pitched six seasons in the Astros organization compiling a 34-29 record with a 3.69 ERA. In 2009, he played for the St. George Roadrunners in the Golden League, where he had a 7-4 record with a 3.60 ERA. In 2010, he split time between St. George and Rockford (Northern League). Last season, Diaz was 10-1 with a 4.12 ERA for the Bluefish.

He's been very consistent as a reliever as well as a starter. Last season, he had a great season for the Bluefish. This season he should be able to help them out in many different ways as a starter, long reliever, setup man or as a closer (if need be).
