Mashable's Kate Freeman wrote about a new online fundraising website due to launch next week called SimpleWayToFundraise that aims to help youth sports teams raise funds for equipment or travel to tournaments.

The site was created by former professional baseball player Jason Romano, who says money for sports tournaments was often difficult to come by when he was a youth sports player.
“We didn’t grow up with much money and you have to travel to tournaments across the country,” he said.
Romano finished his professional career with the Somerset Patriots in 2007, batting .281 with seven home runs and 45 RBI in 73 games. He played in the major leagues for the Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Cincinnati Reds between 2002 and 2005.

Similar to Kickstarter and other online fundraising sites, Romano's SimpleWayToFundraise will allow people to create a page linked to their PayPal account; then they'll get a link that they can share by email, Facebook or Twitter to allow people to make donations.

While the site is focused on youth sports, anyone who needs to fundraise will be able to make use of it.
