Skeeters Sign Five More, Including Gary Majewski And Heath Phillips

The Sugar Land Skeeters have announced the singing of pitchers Gary Majewski, Heath Phillips, and Sean Morgan as well as catcher Colt Morton and infielder Ofilio Castro on Wednesday. 

Gary Majewski was originally drafted by the 2nd round (59th overall) of the 1998 Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox out of St. Pius X High School in Houston, TX. He's  pitched in 231 major leagues between the Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, and Houston Astros from 2005-2010. He has a career 9-13 record with a 4.75 ERA in the major leagues.

Heath Phillips was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 10th round (292nd overall) of 2000 MLB Amateur Draft. He pitched seven seasons in the White Sox minor league system. His best season came in 2006, when he posted a 12-5 record with a 2.96 ERA. After starting the 2007 season in the minors he was called up to the majors in September of 2007. He pitched six games for the White Sox that season posting a 1-1 record with a 3.68 ERA in 7.1 innings. From 2008-10, he played at the Triple-A level for the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals. Last season he had 1-3 record with a 4.91 ERA in 10 games for the Long Island Ducks.

Sean Morgan was originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 4th round (133rd overall) of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft out of Tulane University. He pitched three seasons in the Diamondbacks organization posting a 4-6 record with a 4.65 ERA.

Colt Morton was selected by the San Diego Padres in 3rd round (71st overall) of the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft. He played seven seasons int he Padres organization including 10 games in the major leagues in 2007 and 2008. 

Ofilio Castro played eight seasons in the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals organization. He advanced as high as Triple-A in 2008 with Columbus. He has a career .259 minor league batting average.
